Victor
Burghardt was born in Budapest / Hungary on January, 27th,
1937. Following his high-school graduation he studied clarinet
at the conservatory in Zurich / Switzerland (diploma in 1963)
and from 1965 to 1968 composition and counterpoint at the
music academy Basel/Switzerland. Since then he is working
as soloist, conductor, arranger and composer in the area of
electronic and band music for several European broadcasting
corporations. In addition he is teaching at different music
schools and colleges. From 1964 to 1984 Victor Burghardt acted
as clarinet soloist and lead-saxophonist at the Swiss Radio
Orchestra.
His extraordinary abilities as instrumentalist, composer,
arranger and band leader are captured on more than 100 records
(CDs) and on more than 8.000 radio, TV and concert recordings,
some of them are in cooperation with world famous artists
such as Henry Mancini, Sammy Davis Jr., Gene Kelly, Joe Hendricks,
Maynard Ferguson, Eddie Harris, Slide Hampton and Julie Andrews.
He was awarded a multitude of prizes and awards for his compositions.
Victor Burghardt is Swiss citizen and lives in Zurich/Switzerland.
