 Georgi
Gürov was born in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 1947. He
visited the musical high school and was member of the youth
orchestra. 1967-72 he studied at the state music academy in
Sofia; he has been flute soloist of the youth national theatre.
1972-74 he acted as piano player, singer,
arranger and composer in the army ensemble. He composed title
songs for the theatre and television in Sofia. 1974-76 he
acted as flute soloist of the Bulgarian chamber orchestra
and 1976-78 as flute soloist of the State Philharmonic Orchestra
in Sofia. 1965-80 several concert tours as soloist brought
him to Russia, Italy, Germany, Brasilia, et al. In 1980 he
immigrated to Germany. Currently he is director of a music
school in the vicinity of Osnabrück. There he is teaching
flute and piano and is leading the children choir "Ragazzi
musici". His compositions are especially dedicated to
the youth and comprise of pieces for soloists as well as for
orchestra.
